Victorian Government – Department of Education

Working within the Communication Division, I was part of a small design team responsible for shaping and delivering communications that supported Victorian Government priorities across early childhood development, school education, and vocational education and training. Alongside two other designers, I helped lead, guide, and support both internal and external communications, branding, digital services, and event-related materials.

Each designer was given full responsibility for assigned projects, managing them end-to-end—from initial brief and stakeholder engagement through to final production. Acting as a brand guardian for the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, my role required strict adherence to government brand standards while ensuring clarity, accessibility, and visual engagement across a wide range of audiences.

Listed below are some examples of key projects I was appointed to design and manage:

      • Autism – Friendly Learning: consisting of a 92pp-booklet ‘Transition to Secondary School’, Presentation folder, Masthead, CD design along with contents.
      • Early Years Awards: Booklets, Invitations, Certificates, Lectern signage, Event programs and Press materials.
      • Welcome to Primary School: 36pp-booklet designed for print and online delivery.
      • Welcome to Secondary School: 40pp-booklet designed for print and online delivery.
      • The State of Victorian Children: 154pp-publication produced for print and digital delivery.

Appointed the task to a major publication to break-up dense, copy-heavy content into a more eye appealing, easy-to-read document for the audience to read and digest. I created custom silhouette illustrations for the audience to relate to, with distinct colour palette applied to clearly differentiate chapters to assist the navigation throughout the document. The colour system was applied consistently across charts, diagrams, and data visualisations.
